The Ultimate Credit Card

Yes, I am beating a dead horse. But come on now, wouldn't you like to have a credit card that the limit was the entire wealth of The United States? Plus, the wealth all those yet to be born persons will generate? Ooops, I mean those deemed worthy of life in the future.

Slumdog Trillionaire

"Slumdog Millionaire" may have taken 8 Oscars but all the spending the government is going to do that will "stimulate" the economy deserves an acting award as well. The sad thing is that many, if not most, Americans believe that the government can spend their way out of the current mess. Has that ever worked for anyone's personal finances???

Oh well, by the time my great great great grandkids have to pony up, I will be dead. And, if the country goes fully socialist, the government will just hand out money and we will get the same ...... just like in the good ole Soviet Union. We all know how fair and compassionate that was.

Blast From The Past - College Days - 21 Years Ago!!!!!

Special thanks to my college buddy Wendy for sending these photo's. I have really enjoyed them and am now sharing them here. We are both looking good and ready for our dates. Hard to believe this is 21 years ago.

Would you look at this. Spring Break 1988. Went on a trip to the Rocky Mountains and Wyoming in general. I was a Radioman on active duty in the Navy and a Radioman in the active Reserves in college serving in a unit called MIUWU-11 (Mobile Inshore Underwater Warfare Unit 11). 21 years later I could not fight my way out of a wet paperbag, but back then, it would have been dangerous to meet me in the jungle if you were the opposition. The guy next to me was my best friend in college and went on to become a police officer. He was also the best man at my wedding in 1989.

I love the music of REO Speedwagon and went to the concert at the Del Mar Fair in the summer of 1988. They sucked on the first 4 songs but then came alive. It was a great concert. Yes, you could smell pot in the air.

This is the Spring Banquet at the Hotel Del Coronado I believe. The important thing though is that the very pretty young lady I am standing next to, will be celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary with me this summer. And she still is as beautiful as ever and I love her so much. Together we are raising Little Rolling Thunder. And should any of those that thought we would not make it over a year ever read this, I have to give them those two famous words.........Bite me!

Mamma Mia!!!!

Watched a great new musical this weekend on OnDemand. Mamma Mia!!!!!!! Just loved this movie. All the music was from the Pop Group ABBA. I used to have a few of their albums. Go to the website, check out the movie. I wish now I had seen it on the big screen. It's been a long time since I have seen a musical. This movie was also very funny. The singing was great, especially from the daughter getting married. It was just a good fun movie. It entertained - exactly what it was supposed to do. You need to laugh, you need to dance, you need to see this movie.

The Buzzard, the Bat, and the Bumblebee

I received this in an email from a friend. I thought it was real good and decided to share it here.

THE BUZZARD:

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

THE BAT:

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE:

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

PEOPLE:

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up! That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem! Just look up.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

A Thought On The Safe Hudson River Plane Landing

This should make you think about the plane ticket you buy. But the Lord works in mysterious ways, and with a sense of humor!

First: No one died!
Second: The passengers standing on the wing appeared to be walking on water!
Third: It removed Obama from the headlines for 24 hours!
Fourth: No one in the government could take credit for the miracle!
and
Fifth: It wasn't George Bush's fault!

WOW!

Little Rolling Thunder's Valentines Baking Party

Little Rolling Thunder belows to a small group fellowship at church. This is part of the Jr High Ministry. The day after Valentines Day she went to the leaders home for a cookie baking party. The girls had a ton of fun to say the least. I got some goodies out of the deal which was nice.

There were 8 girls there and they watched Prince Caspian when they were not baking. Little Rolling Thunder is really thriving in her small group. She is however the very smallest one. Everyone in her group thinks it is really cool that she is a gymnast. She is also the strongest as being the only one that can do pull-ups and stuff like that.

All in all, the kiddo had a great Valentines Day weekend. From the stuff she got at home to the party she went to, along with a friend getting to spend the night over the weekend, she made out real good. I on the other hand, had the bulk of the M&M's.
