Who Runs The Shop?

Well, the government fired the Boss of GM ( he should have been replaced anyway ). The only problem with the government firing private company CEO's is where does it stop??? Today I read an article that Obama may fire some of the band CEO's. Again, people worthy of being fired. But I would feel a whole lot better if their boards were doing it.

Action Points

ACTION POINTS for Committed Dads

● Go out of your way to intentionally affirm your child in his pursuit of something he enjoys.

● Tell your children about a time in your youth when you received advice from a father or father figure that changed the course of your life.

● Be a regular “taxi driver” for your children and their friends. It’s a great way to be available and learn about what’s going on in their lives.

● No matter what your child’s age, involve him or her in daily tasks around the house that you can do together—cooking, cleaning, maintenance tasks, etc.

● Make it a habit to say those 3 words that can be life-changing for you and your child: “I love you.”.

● Read a chapter from Proverbs with your kids (or pick out one verse, if you have younger kids) and talk about how all of you can apply the truth.

Bella

Now here is a movie about redemption and unconditional love. It also is a movie about doing what is right. It speaks to the value of human life. Like the previous post, broken people can be fixed. This movie says life is worth living.

It is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. This is a movie everyone needs to see.

Sometimes the right way is the hardest way. Sometimes we have to walk down dark paths with those we love to help them get to the other side. Just as Christ walks with us.

Yes, it is a love story, but not the typical Hollywood version that at times is so shallow. This movie shows what real commitment to those we love can look like. With society the way it is at times, this movie is a breath of fresh air. I wonder how committed we are to those we say we love?

The Secret Life of Bees

Here is another great movie to see! Again, thank goodness I have On Demand. Another one missed in the movie house.

This is a great story about redemption and getting your life back on track. A story that says broken people can be fixed while yet some cannot. While not a Christian movie, Christian themes are present. We never know how we truly affect other people's lives. And, we really never know how we or others are going to handle the things that come our way.

Overall, just another excellent entertaining movie. Watch out for some strong language should kiddo's be around.

Iron Man

Thank goodness for On Demand!!! I finally got to see Iron Man. Fully loved the movie and can hardly wait for the sequel. You know there will be another movie.

I saw the new Hulk movie on On Demand and was glad I did because it did not live up to the billing in my opinion. Would have hated to pay almost $20 for that. However, Iron Man did and it's a shame I did not see it on the big screen.

On Demand has been worth every nickel. With theater prices going through the roof these days, most movies only cost $4.99. So for that price; I can pause the movie, go to the restroom, get food and drink, and not have to miss a single frame of the movie.

Yes, Iron Man was great. Even the wife liked it. Great action and great special affects. So, if you missed it on the big screen, rent it. You will not regret it.

The Fire

Yes folks, it's big fire alright. A talk show host made a good point just recently. If you look at Stock Market before Obama took office in January and now in March, it has lost over a third of its worth. It really has been a meltdown. You can blame Bush only to a point now. As our collective butts are all on fire now, one only wonders where this will lead.
